The young full-back One more composed performance from the 20-year-old following his first cap against another side. A teammate failed to make the opportunity from a clever flick over the opposing backline. The left-back spot is his to lose at this stage. 7/10

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning with the national team. Somewhat careless when playing out however his inswinging deliveries caused problems. A useful pace-controller available to the coach to utilize versus defensive opponents. Cautioned for a rash tackle. Six

The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and set-plays caused problems. Had room to roam in left midfield but was in an offside position as the pass came with a chance to score. Given a well-earned substitution on the hour mark. Six

The star midfielder Played in a forward spot on the right while also put in defensive duties. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance but scuffed an attempt wide. Withdrawn towards the end by a teammate, his competition, after being booked. 7

The winger Had the team's clearest opportunity before halftime, his shot excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate hanging back, he had to provide width on the right but his crosses from the touchline were hit and miss. Taken off late in the match. Six

The captain The difference-maker with his 77th and 78th strikes at international level. The first a typical opportunist's goal while the second a superb headed goal following a clever run off his defender. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and the side have every chance in the upcoming tournament with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to make an impact on the left flank. Had a presentable chance after being played in by the midfielder but the keeper made the save. His replacement made much more of an impact when substituted. 5/10
