Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.
The latest action-packed title that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for celebrating chaos and madness with equal excitement, all while weaving gripping, politically driven stories. No wonder then that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two visionaries whose work have embodied all of those qualities.

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' format by featuring a new backdrop and group of personalities in subsequent series.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”
What’s Next
Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.
“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team continues to lift me up with their steady belief and backing.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology series. Every instalment is a take of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always examining the essence of society through this multifaceted and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and introduce our shared irreverent, visionary style to the screen.”
A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
