The UK is ready to advance with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russian assets to support the Ukrainian war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the initiative would be implemented in strong partnership with the United States.

United Kingdom restrictions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia initiated its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, funds allocated to Ukraine using Russia's funds had only been sourced from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to push forward toward using the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state assets to conclude the conflict.

He stated that additional measures over the next period would apply more pressure on Russia.

This statement comes after EU officials convened in Copenhagen recently to discuss using frozen Russian holdings for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump urged international partners to seize or otherwise use frozen Russian funds, based on reports.

The worth of immobilized Russia's holdings in the European Union is calculated to be almost €211bn.

Leader Zelensky calls on the United Kingdom's Sir Keir Starmer to join the weapons procurement programme

Russia executed extensive aerial attacks throughout Ukraine on recently, leading to electricity outages in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were killed and at least 20 people were wounded in the attack, the Ukrainian government said.

In a post on social media after the incident, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack targeted non-military and power facilities.

"The necessity is not just talk but firm measures - from the America, Europe, and the seven nations - in delivering air defence systems and applying penalties," he wrote.

"Each restrictive measure undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to media outlets he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement scheme, under which Nato countries purchase arms from the United States to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the Britain's consistent assistance for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the system, as well as impose more measures on the Russian Federation.
